Sacramento County Youth Fair Offers Free Admission

 

The Sacramento County Fair is scheduled at Cal Expo for four days of livestock shows, indoor exhibits, entertainment, carnival rides, food and fun, Thursday, May 8, through Sunday, May 11. Admission is free to everyone all four days. The 61st Sacramento County Fair salutes the youth of Sacramento in the areas of agriculture, home crafts, livestock, art and science.

Over 2,200 Sacramento County residences ages six to nineteen present their arts and animals for judging. Most of the fair exhibits are entered by student members of 4-H, Future Farmers of America and the Grange Association. A new addition to the fair this year is the Boy

Scouts of America Scout-A-Rama, taking place on Saturday, May 10. Also presented on May 10 is a livestock auction and Western Team Penning. A fashion show, horse show and awards presentation will be presented throughout the weekend.

The fair is open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, May 8, through Saturday, May 10, and 10:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Sunday, May 11. Carnival rides at the Midway of Fun will be open until 11:00 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and until 8:30 Sunday. All-day wristbands can be purchased for $10 on Thursday and Friday and $12 on Saturday and Sunday. Although admission is free, parking at Cal Expo is $4.00 per vehicle.
